Visite guidée de Tours "visite générale"

Location
Until Monday 31 Aug
Tours was founded in the 1st Century on the left bank of the Loire River. In the Middle Ages, two separated areas were developped: the city around the Cathedral Quarter and also Châteauneuf area known now under the name of the Old Town. It was built around a huge college dedicated to Saint-Martin. Royal capital from 1440 to 1520, Tours has seen in the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance, the rebuilding of almost all of its urban mansions. From this flourishing age, the city inherits many half-timbered houses and mansions in truly exceptional stone. The great urban work in the second half of the eighteenth century is a true revolution. Now the road to Spain passes Tours, thanks to Wilson Bridge and the drilling of Rue Royale, which is now Rue Nationale
